We’ll be playing at the American Bar on Dock Street, Belfast (click here for the Google Map), on Saturday 22 July. Jim will be doing his acoustic thing as support from about 9pm, and the band will be on from about 10pm. £5 on the door.
The Proposition Blues Band has been a bit inactive of late, mostly because we lost our bass player. Christine has had a lot on her plate and has stepped back. But we’ve added Jim McLarnon as our new bass player, and we’re reheasing for some upcoming gigs.
First, we’ll be supporting Blues Direct at the Maple Leaf Club, Park Avenue, Belfast, on 3 March. Then, on 24 March, we’ll have our own headline show at the Sunflower on Union Street! More details closer to the time.
Here we are doing “Need Your Love So Bad”.
A snippet of the closing guitar solo from “Still Got the Blues”
And our closer, “Call Me the Breeze”.
The Proposition Blues Band had its debut in support of the Dandy Horses, a folky multi-instrumentalist five-piece, who were launching their new album, Tales from Hard Luck Town, at the Belfast Barge on Saturday 13 August 2016. Our nine-song set went down very well with the audience, some of whom were armed with phones – meaning at least some of the performance has gone down for posterity. Here we are playing “Whatever Lola Wants”, as shot by Julie Kinsella.
Michael’s wife Liz also took a load of photos, which you can see at this link.
And here’s a sample of what the Dandy Horses do: “My Heart Goes Boom”.
